The boys competed agains each other in a downhill race after each one had built their own “carruzzuni” (a homemade cart) using wooden boards and various kinds of small wheels. The winner was either the one who managed to go the farthest from the starting point or the one who crossed the finish line first. Feet – along with often worn – out shoes were used as brakes.
