    Ntinna

During the Feast of Saint Calogero, a wooden pole called “ntinna” is set up in the town square and coated with soap. The goal of the competition is to reach the top of the slippery pole without falling. Partecipants are forced to make numerous attempts before successfully reaching the end, where bags contain meat, cigarettes and candies are found and thrown into the crowd. A special envelope with money is carefully kept by the partecipant who manages to grab it, along with a bottle of sparkling wine to celebrate the achievement.
